Bishops Cleeve 0 Frome Town 2 Ballinger (28p) Hulbert (70) Crowd:65 Man of the Match: Craig Fullam The Robins recorded an excellent away win at Bishop Cleeve that moved them back into contention for a play-off position. The hosts started the better of the two sides and almost took a 9th minute lead as Steven Jackson beat Mike Reaney to a block tackle on the right touch line and his cross appeared to be dipping into the net at the far post but Tom Pass reacted well to tip over at full stretch. Frome started to come more into the game and a Ricky Hulbert skidding ball across the face of the box was spilt by Tom King in the home goal but he managed to recover just in time to gather before Luke Ballinger could pounce on the loose ball. The deadlock was broken on 28 minutes as Hulbert's close range effort was deliberating handeled on the line but the home defender was strangely only shown a yellow card much to the anger of the Robins players, supporters and management.  Ballinger confidently stepped up to hammer home the penalty emphatically to set Frome on their way to another win. Mark Salter almost extended the lead moments later as he was put clean through on the left edge of the area but his shot was straight at King who gathered comfortably. The hosts stepped up their game for the remainder of the half and a Sam Avery cross from the right was headed onto the crossbar by Kevin Slack and Reaney was quick to react to hook the ball off the line while Slack then set up Dan Avery who ballooned his shot over the bar when well placed. Persistent heavy rain continued to fall leaving the surface slippery and aided towards an entertaining half as play switched from end to end.  Ballinger's England Futsal colleague Alex Sykes was becoming more influential for the hosts and his snap shot from 30 yards flew just inches past Pass' left hand upright before the dangerous Slack once again created a chance for his side as his cross found James Vercasi whose downward header forced Pass to tip the ball over the bar once again. Dave Thompson replaced Ben Osman shortly after the break but Cleeve continued to press in search of an equaliser and Vercasi shot wide from a good position and an acrobatical clearance off the line by Matt Peters kept Frome ahead. The second goal was always going to be important and it came Frome's way with 20 minutes left as Ballinger crossed from the right and Hulbert reacted first to fire home past King from the edge of the area. With Cleeve pushing even further forward Frome were looking dangerous on the break and after winning a free kick Peters delivered the ball into the area and the loose ball fell to Craig Fullam whose volley from 25 yards was brilliantly saved by King. The hosts had nothing to lose now and if they had taken their chances could have pulled themselves back into the game and a free header from Adam Mayo went just wide of the post and a skidding low cross by Dan Avery just eluded the outstretched leg of Lance Lewis at the far post. Darren Perrin then introduced Ashley Caldwell for Hulbert to use up some time in the last couple of minutes and just before Simon Millard replaced Mark Salter, Ben Gascoyne cut across the edge of the area from the right and his well executed shot was well held by Pass to complete a well earned three points for the Robins.
