Gosport Borough 0 Frome Town 0 Crowd: 167 Man of the Match: Matt Peters Frome Town extended their unbeaten league run to 14 games and made it nine hours of play since they last conceded a goal as they earned a very creditable 0-0 draw at sixth placed Gosport Borough in what turned out to be an excellent game. With Dafyyd Lloyd still unavailable due to illness, Frome played with their third goalkeeper in three matches as Steve Perrin (Darren Perrin's brother) was drafted into the side to cover. Just to make life even more difficult, with Jamie Cheeseman suspended for one game, Graham Mills, a  Frome favourite of several years ago, made his debut at centre half alongside Craig Fullam. Mark Salter was also struggling with a back injury and was named as substitute. The match started at a good pace, and after the initial sparring, Frome carved out an opportunity in the 5th minute as a Ballinger corner was met by the head of Hulbert, only for the header to be cleared off the line by a defender In what was turning into a very good half between two good teams ,Frome again went close in the 27th minute as Thomson did well on the left wing to run to the dead ball line and pull the ball back well, but the chance was cleared by the Gosport defence as the Frome forwards rushed into the box. The 38th minute brought a very good chance as a Ballinger corner dropped to Perrott, standing about 5 yards from goal, but the half volley flew unerringly straight into the midriff of the home goalkeeper. With the score 0-0 at half time, Gosport's highest crowd of the season waited to see whether the stalemate would be broken, and it very nearly was within seconds of the kick off, as the ball was played back to Peters, he managed to miskick the ball, allowing the Gosport forwards a clean run through on goal, but Perrin was alert to the situation and came off his line very quickly to clear the ball to safety in the nick of time. The 55th minute again saw  Perrin earn praise from his brother as a dangerous Gosport move led to a 25 yard shot that was screaming into the corner of the net with Perrin just managing to get his fingertips to the ball and tip it round the post for a corner. However, from the resulting corner, Frome broke dangerously on the left wing with Thomson, and as his cross was cleared by the Gosport defence, the ball came straight back to Lake who produced the sweetest of crosses onto the head of Perrott, the header hit the inside of the post and looked to be going straight to the unmarked Hulbert, but the ball bounced high over his head and eventually the chance went begging. Luke Ballinger was strangely booked in the 65th minute as the referee apparently restarted the match with a "competitive dropped ball" after an injury to a player. Ballinger won the dropped ball and started off up the wing with ball, only to be called back by the referee's whistle and yellow card. With Dave Thompson having replaced the injured Alex Lapham at half time, the match continued to be an excellent contest between two good teams. Simon Millard replaced Ricky Hulbert in the 84th minute,, but both defences held out and Frome's unbeaten run continued. Greg Lake was chosen as Man of the Match, in yet another outstanding display by all the back four.
