North Leigh 4 Frome Town 0 Taylor (21)&(28) Posey (64) Reardon (76) Crowd:82 Man of the Match: Sim Allison Frome Town slumped to their biggest defeat of the season as they were well beaten 4-0 by North Leigh in a match where the final score was a true reflection of the encounter. North Leigh started at pace and almost took the lead in the 10th minute as Taylor beat Winter and laid the ball back to McCabe whose point blank shot was bravely saved by Pass to prevent the home side taking the lead. Frome went close one minute later as a Thomson left wing cross was met by the head of Hulbert, with the ball ending up in the side netting. North Leigh's pressure told in the 21st minute as a Futcher corner was cleanly headed home by Taylor to give the home side the lead, and they very nearly added to it two minutes later as Futcher shot wide from a good position. The 28th minute saw the home side increase their lead as Taylor scored his second of the game with a header to convert a right wing cross and the two nil lead was a fair reflection of the game up to that point. Reardon went close with a 30 yard shot that screamed over the bar in the 44th minute, and Frome were happy to hear the half time whistle. The second half was a re-run of the first, and Pass did very well in the 47th minute to save twice in quick succession from Reardon and then McCabe who was quick to react to the re-bound. One minute later and McCabe hot the Frome bar with a header from an unmarked position. The 59th minute saw Cheeseman beaten by McCabe and as the ball was drilled across the face of the goal, only a goal line clearance by Fullam prevented the ball from going into the net, however, North Leigh did increase their lead in the 64th minute as Posey let rip with a low 35 yard drive that flew past Pass to nestle in the back of the Frome net. Reardon added the fourth in the 76th minute as he tapped in from close range, and Dodds almost made it five in the 82nd minute as his header from a corner hit the visitor's post. With the home side coasting, they used all their substitutes and Frome at last managed to make some impression. Ballinger was put clean through in the 86th minute and beat the keeper, only for his shot to hit the post and rebound harmlessly, and in the 90th minute, new signing Cauldwell threw himself at a Ballinger cross only to see his header hit the top of the crossbar and go to safety. All in all, it was a bad day at the office for Frome, and with Thatcham Town on Tuesday and VTFC at home on Saturday, there's plenty to think about. Simeon Allison was awarded the man of the match award for Frome after coming on as a substitute in the 53rd minute.
