Thatcham Town 1 Frome Town 1 Stow (75) Salter (27) Crowd:62 Man of the Match: Mark Salter After a couple of below par games, Frome Town produced a much improved performance to hold Thatcham to a well desrved draw, and could well have returned with all three points with a little more luck. After a bright start, the first incident of the match arrived in the18th minute as Thatcham's Brown advanced on the penalty area, only to be bundled over by the challenge of Reaney, leading to vociferous protests from the home team as they claimed a penalty, but none was given. Frome took the lead in the 27th minute as Hulbert broke through the Thatcham defence and laid a nice ball through to Salter who just beat the offside trap to put the ball in the net.  The partnership again looked dangerous in the 35th minute as Hulbert headed down a Thomson cross, but this time Salter volleyed the ball high and wide. The 38th minute saw a 25 yard Peters shot that caused Strudley problems, but he reacted just in time to reclaim the ball and deny Salter his second as the striker closed in on the chance. With the Thatcham team still complaining about the penalty decision that was not given, the referee eventually decided that he had had enough and showed a red card to a member of the Thatcham management team, The second half started with Thatcham the brighter of the two teams, and the 47th minute saw  Tucker set up for a chance that Stow  blazed over the bar. Frome had their own chance a minute later as  Cheeseman  convincingly won the ball and sent Hulbert on a run that took him  into the box from the left. His cut back found Salter advancing , but with just the keeper to beat, the ball took an awful bobble and allows the Strudley to claim the ball. Frome again went close in the 56th minute as a Reaney left wing free kick allowed an  unmarked Caldwell header that hit the bar and rebounded to safety, and one minute later, Thatcham went close as Leacock made ground on right, pulled the ball back to Brown and his snap shot was brilliantly held at full stretch by Pass. With the game becoming very entertaining, Thatcham equalised in the 75th minute as a 35 yard right wing free kick from Stow was curled inside the near post with the hobbling Pass unable to scramble across the goal quickly enough. With both sides looking for the win, Frome probably had the better chances towards the end of the match. Allison did well in the 78th minute to produce a cross that just evaded Salter, and one minute later a Peters through ball allowed Hulbert to shoot from the edge of the area that Strudley just tipped over the bar. The 85th minute saw a Thomson right wing free kick, both Salter and Cheeseman went up for it but the ball was just cleared for a corner which again created a shooting chance for Hulbert. The 90th minute saw an Osman corner curled into the box, Cheeseman  won the  header and Fullam shot over on the turn for what proved to be the last chance of the match. Frome's Man of the Match was chosen as Mark Salter, while the home supporters chose their goalkeeper Paul Strudley, which gives an indication of how well Frome had played on the night.
