After a three week break due to the bad weather Frome looked lack of match practice in the opening period but could have taken an early lead as a Ben Thomson corner almost crept in at the near post but was headed off the line by Nick Barker. Kevin Squire headed wide for the hosts from a Ben Wood cross before Thomson was harshly booked in an altercation with Craig Laird who also was put into referee Mark Pottage’s note book but was lucky to remain on the pitch after appearing to raise his hand to Thomson. Evans saw a shot deflected wide and Darren White avoided the home sides off side trap but Matt Armstrong-Ford thwarted him with a brave block with his legs. A long range effort from Steve Orchard after 35 minutes was parried by Darren Chitty in the Frome goal and in the ensuing tussle in the area Dean Flockton was harshly judged to have committed a foul and Matt Hockley converted the resulting penalty. Bideford should have been awarded a second penalty before both Evans and Josh Brigham picked up yellow cards. Right on the stroke of half-time a Brigham long throw fell at the feet of Matt Peters who fired home to equalise low in the bottom corner giving the 'keeper no chance. After the break Frome looked back to their best as they took the game to their hosts and took the lead after 50 minutes with a bizarre goal as Thomson crossed from the left and Armstrong- Ford misjudged the flight of the ball as it fell into the back of the net over the head of the tall Bideford custodian. Flockton was booked for a last ditch tackle on Matt Andrew as the midfielder headed towards goal but Darren Hawkings free-kick went high and wide of the target but then Flockton then made a great blocking tackle to deny Sean Downing in the area as the hosts tried to vain to find a way past the Frome defence. The Robins had the chance to put the game beyond doubt after 58 minutes as Mike Perrott put White through on goal and just as he was about to shoot he was tripped from behind by Dominic Rivans and was rightly red carded as the last man.  Brigham stepped forward to take the penalty but he dragged his shot well wide to the relief of the home support. Armstrong-Ford was then lucky not to be in trouble himself after handling the ball well outside of the area but the infringment was missed by the match officials but the 'keeper made up for his previous errors moments later as White set up Perrott whose low curling effort was pushed behind and then White again was the provider as he set-up Evans but his shot on the turn was well held. Greg Lake was the next to find his name in the book before Ben Osman replaced Luke Ballinger after 72 minutes, then Frome finally got the third goal after 75 minutes as White did well to release Perrott who squared to Evans who swept home from close range. Matt Smith replaced the hard working White just before Frome completed the win with 10 minutes left as Perrott was put through by Smith but his poked effort was blocked by the onrushing Armstrong-Ford but the loose ball fell at the feet of the unmarked Evans on the right edge of the area and he steered the ball into the empty net to the delight of the visiting players, management and supporters alike. Ryan Bennett replaced Brigham as soon as the goal went in and the final goalmouth action of the game saw Osman's shot on the turn well tipped over by the home 'keeper. This was an excellent result for the Robins at a ground that has always been difficult to get a win in a game that saw eight yellow cards and a sending off with discipline lacking on both sides at times.
