Match Reports Season 2010 / 11 Saturday October 9th 2010 Bishops Cleeve Away Saturday 9th October Zamaretto Southern League Division 1 (SW) Bishops Cleeve 0 Frome Town 1 Frome Scorers: Evans (84) Bishops Cleeve Scorers: None Crowd: 83 Entertainment Value: 3 Star Man: Dean Flockton Frome Town produced another good performance and eventually came away from Bishops Cleeve with all three goals thanks to a late winner from Dean Evans. Frome started brightly and in the 18th minute, a Lake left wing cross saw Etheridge head just wide of the goal, and two minutes later a long throw from Brigham allowed Perrott to get a header on goal, but this time it was saved by King in the home goal. Three minutes later and Etheridge and Perrott again combined well to enable Perrott to shoot just wide of the home goal from the right hand side of the penalty area. Controversy erupted in the 28th minute as Bishop Cleeve's Gascoyne bundled Smith dangerously into the advertising hoardings, and after the melee had calmed down, the referee only showed a yellow card to Gascoyne, and booked Frome's Cheeseman, although that seemed to be a case of mistaken identity. Frome's dominance of the half continued as Lapham set Thomson free in the 33rd minute, but his low shot was well saved by King, and the 40th minute saw Thomson set up Perrott, and this time his shot stung the hands of the home keeper, and with Bishop Cleeve's only real effort of the first half coming from a direct free kick on the stroke of half time, Frome could be very pleased with their performance, but a little upset to be still level. The second half started in much the same manner as the first, with Perrott shooting wide in the 46th minute and heading an Evans left wing cross over the bar from 8 yards after good approach play from Lapham. Etheridge and Perrott again caused mayhem in the home defence in the 53rd minute, but this time it was Etheridge that headed Perrott's cross over the bar. Frome hit the woodwork in the 68th minute as Thomson cut in from the left wing and squared the ball across the box, allowing Perrott to thunder a right foot shot against the underside of the bar from 15 yards, and the away support began to wonder if it was just going to be one of those days. White replaced Etheridge in the 80th minute and was booked for his first tackle, with the referee indicating that he was being booked under the "totting up principle", yet another case of mistaken identity. The match was eventually decided in the space of two minutes, when in the 83rd minute Bishop Cleeve's Avery headed a Gascoyne right wing cross over the Frome bar from 6 yards when it seemed easier to score. Frome took the lead a minute later as Cheeseman produced an acrobatic overhead kick on the edge of the home penalty area then saw the ball fall to Evans who controlled the ball and drove it low under King for the only goal of the game, though even the travelling fans were confidently expecting the goal to be disallowed for offside, but the whistle never came and the goal stood. Bishop Cleeve's Jones was shown a second yellow in the 90th minute for bringing down White, but the Frome goal was never threatened after they took the lead and three points came back down the M5 to Somerset. Dean Flockton was chosen as Man of the Match for another commanding performance at the heart of defence. Man of the Match by representatives of "No.7, The Bridge" who  had sponsored the match.
