After two league games without a goal, and with Ricky Hulbert nursing a broken ankle after the midweek game, the pre-match conversations tended to focus on who was going to score the goals for Frome this season, but Darren Perrin obviously knew the answer as he pushed Dean Evans up from midfield to start at centre forward, and it only took 59 seconds of the game for him to latch onto an excellent Lake left wing cross and stab the ball cleanly home from 12 yards and give Frome a 1-0 lead. The second goal arrived on four minutes as a Lapham left wing corner was chipped into the near post, allowing the unmarked Cheeseman to rise and stab the ball home in almost a re- run of the first goal. Lake and Thomson were now causing Bridgwater all sorts of problems on the left wing, and in the ninth minute they combined again to produce a low cross into the box that just evaded Evans, but he stretched for the ball, won the tackle and drove the ball low into the net for his second and Frome's third. Yet another left wing corner  in the 12th minute led to the fourth goal, as Lapham chipped the ball in and Evans headed down for Thomson to drive the ball low into the corner from 12 yards out, effectively sealing the game for the home side. To their credit Bridgwater recovered and caused the home defence a couple of problems, but they went further behind in the 36th minute as some trickery from Allison on the right wing gave him a yard of space and he produced the perfect hanging cross for Smith to head home easily at the far post making it 5- 0. Five chances and five goals, and it could easily have been six in the 41st minute as Thomson did well on the right, setting up Evans, but his goalbound shot was brilliantly saved by Buckingham in the visitors goal. With the game effectively over at half time, Frome continued to cause Bridgwater problems. Peters won the ball well in midfield in the 56th minute, allowing Lapham to cut in from the left wing and curl a shot just wide of the far post. A Brigham header from a corner was only just cleared off the line by a Bridgwater defender in the 58th minute and an excellent Frome break from defence led to Evans just shooting over in the 63rd minute. The sixth goal arrived in the 65th minute as Evans caused problems again, leading to Minnis being taken down on the right hand edge of the area. With both Lapham and Thomson lining up for the kick, Thomson took it and produced the perfect left foot inswinging free kick that buried itself in the far corner of the net. Frome were now cruising and Minnis and Sibbeck now started to operate as twin strikers, and some hard work and good interchange passes in the 83rd minute led to Sibbeck producing the perfect cross for Minnis, but he just failed to get a touch from six yards into an open net. Only a point blank save by Buckingham denied Sibbeck his first league goal for the club in the 85th minute, and as the final whistle blew, the team were rightly applauded from the field by the excellent crowd of 251. Dean Evans was awarded the Man of the Match award by Frome's vice chairman Terry Wolff, for an inspiring performance where he caused the visitors defence all sorts of problem with his pace and movement..
