Entertainment Value : 2 The last Bank Holiday of the summer turned into a day that Frome will want to forget as they failed to trouble a replacement goal keeper for 88 minutes, missed a penalty and eventually succumbed to a 92nd minute winner from Cinderford Town. Cinderford seems to be a tough place to go to, and last season, Frome only just came away with a point after being overrun for most of the match and only a 35 yard 89th minute goal rescued the situation. This time, Frome would have thought their luck had changed as Cinderford’s goal keeper Ben John was shown a straight red in the second minute as he came miles out of his goal and clattered Dean Evans with a two footed challenge that appalled everyone in the ground. Striker Lewis Soames took over the goalkeeper’s jersey and with 88 minute to go, only 10 men to play against  and a part time keeper in goal, Frome must have fancied their chances .... but it wasn’t to be. A hamstring injury to Allison led to him being replaced by Sibbick in the 9th minute, and seconds later, Sibbick was put clean through, but his scuffed shot was cleared by a defender who slid in and managed to put the ball to safety. The 25th minute heard home shouts for a penalty as Sewell fell in the penalty area after tangling with Chitty, but they fell on deaf ears and the referee waved play on. The rest of the first half was a quiet affair with only a Lapham free kick on the stroke of half time causing problems for the home defence as Soames spilt the ball but was able to recover the situation. As the match settled, neither side seemed to be able to gain the upper hand, and Frome certainly weren’t using their numerical advantage to great effect, nor were they testing the stand in keeper with any pressure, but that changed in the 54th minute as Sibbick turned well in the box, but was immediately taken down by a defender. Evans strode up to take the penalty, but nerves seemed to get the better of him and his scuffed shot was hit straight at the keeper resulting in an easy save. The penalty miss seeemed to galvanise Cinderford who now believed that luck was on their side, and one minute later, O’Sullivan turned Henry and smashed a right foot shot against the Frome cross bar. A bout of pinball in the Frome area one minute later saw the ball come out to Sewell, but his long range shot flew well wide of the visitors goal. As the game wore on, Cinderford seemed to get more and more confident and the 67th and 73rd minutes saw glanced headers that only just cleared the Frome goal, and as the second half approached its conclusion, it seemed as if only the home side had the desire to win the match, with Frome still failing to test the goalkeeper. The sucker punch duly arrived in the 2nd minute of stoppage time as a misdirected header from Henry allowed McCooke to race onto the ball and slip the ball into Miller who fired home from close range past Chitty, to the delight of the home support and the dismay of the away support.
