The first half started unevenfully and set the pattern for the next 45 minutes as Clevedon set out their stall to defend in depth, and to their credit, they did it well with Frome struggling to create any chances, and those they did tending to be long range efforts. Frome's best chance of the half arrived in the 28th minute as Peters arrived late at the far post to just slide the ball past the post as he connected with a Ballinger free kick. Clevedon had a half chance in the 32nd minute as a left wing free kick beat everyone and floated just past the far post. The second half was to prove a different affair however, and Frome took the lead in the 47th minute as a Thomson right wing corner evaded everyone, but Winter picked the ball up on the right, drove it back into the box and Perrotts header thumped against the cross bar, rebounded down and Cheeseman was the first to react, driving the ball cleanly into the net from close range. Frome carried on pressurising the Clevedon defence, and the first 10 minutes saw them winning almost a corner a minute, but most landed safely in the hands of the Clevedon keeper Lee Matthews. However, Clevedon's first meaningful attack of the game in the 56th minute saw them equalise as Best was set free on the right and scored with a scorcher of a right foot shot from 25 yards out that gave Quelch no chance. The match resumed with Frome again making all the running, winning plenty of corners, but not really looking like scoring, and Clevedon looking like they might just make something from counter attacks with the lively forwards. Frome made a triple substitution in the 70th minute with Winter, Lewis and Osman making way for Hulbert, White and Lake, and one minute afterwards, they took the lead as Brigham hit a perfect ball down the wing for Ballinger to run onto. As he outpaced his marker and accelerated into the box, a push caused him to fall to the ground in the penalty area. The referee hesitated, but the linesman had no doubt, the penalty was awarded and Brigham blasted the ball low into the net to make it 2-1. Clevedon strongly protested the awarding of the penalty, and for a while they played with a a new passion, searching for the equaliser, but with Hulbert and White now freely running into space, they were always open to the counter attack, and in the 90th minute they were caught cold as Ballinger broke on the right, played the ball to White who accelerated to the dead ball line and played the perfect low ball across the penalty area for Thomson to side the ball into the net from 10 yards. Dean Flockton was chosen as man of the match for Frome.      Frome Town Clevedon Officials Zane Simpson Joe Flurry Eleftharian Kendros Lee Edwards Samuel Liam Knight A Raggett R Morris J Blower Lee Matthews Rhymel Henderson Sam Teale Jake Murray Steve Kingdon Josh Ford Kris Lee Chas Hemmings Chris Gale Reeko Best Cameron Ricketts
