Match Reports Season 2010 / 11 Wednesday January 26th 2011 Yate Town Home Wed 26th January 2011 Zamarretto Southern League Division 1 (SW) Frome Town 0 Yate Town 0 Crowd: 185 Entertainment Value: 2 Star Man: Ryan Bennett After three successive scoreless draws against Yate Town in the past two years , Frome Town hoped to go one better, but the form book prevailed, and once again no goals were scored and the honours ended even. With Dean Evans and Jamie Cheeseman still missing through suspension, Frome were looking to halt a run of two successive defeats and included new signing Reynold Turnock in the starting line up, with Ricky Hulbert also starting a match for the first time since breaking his leg in the early part of the season. The match started in a lively way, and it looked like the goal drought had been broken as, after 5 minutes,  a run by Perrott led to a cross that Hulbert flicked on at the near post, allowing White to bundle the ball in at the far post, but as the crowd celebrated, the linesman indicated that he had used his hand and the goal was disallowed with no protest from the players. As the half progressed, the match wasn't short of effort and pace, but no patterns really emerged and as such, both goal keepers were relatively untroubled. Yate had a period of play around the 25th minute that saw Chitty brought into action several times, but he always comfortably dealt with the situation, and Frome had a good chance in the 30th minute as a low Brigham free kick deflected off the defensive wall with Thomson managing to blast the ball wide from close range as he fell. The first half ended quietly ,and the second half started with Frome's first chance coming from a long Brigham throw that was flicked on allowing Hulbert a header on target, but Dempsey reacted quickly and just managed to palm the ball over the bar. The match tended to ebb and flow after that, with Frome looking to make things happen on the right wing with Ballinger, and Yate's McClennan tending to do the same at the other end, but in all cases, the final ball was never enough to cause real problems to the goalkeepers. Toby Osman warmed the hands of the crowd in the 73rd minute as he beat two defenders and unleashed a low  shot that was just saved by Dempsey, but that was the only real incident of note in the second half, and the good crowd of 185 retired to  the bar without ever really getting going.
