Hitchin took the lead in the 8th minute as Ieuan Lewis latched onto a Tom Evans mis-placed pass, and though Ryan Bennet superbly blocked the first shot, Jon Frendo drove home the loose ball to give the hosts the lead. The lead only lasted for two minutes as Frome’s Kris Miller was scythed down as he cut into the box allowing Josh Brigham to drive the ball home from the penalty spot. The move of the match came in the 18th minute as Hitchin put together a great passing move that Frome could only stand and stare at, the ball eventually fell to Zac Burke who shot after the bar. The 22nd minute saw Shaun Bennison superbly control a pass from Brigham, he then played the ball into the path of Mike Perrott who set up Miller as surged in from the right, but a despairing defender just managed to block the shot. One minute later, Frome took the lead as Perrott played the ball into Bennison, who won the ball cleanly in a tackle with home keeper Martin Bennet, and was then able to roll the ball into the empty net from the edge of the area. Hitchin threatened in the 38th minute as  a  Mitchell Cole free kick was headed onto the roof of his own net by Ryan Bennett, and then  Mitchell Cole headed the ensuing corner over the bar. On the stroke of half time, Frome went close with Miller volleying towards goal after a long Evans throw was flicked on, but the shot was well saved and hacked clear. The first minute of the second half saw Frome go very close as a Ben Thomson corner was headed back across goal by Matt Smith, allowing Bennsion to turn and shoot, but the the shot was blocked on the line. Frome appealed loudly for a penalty in the 55th minute as Smith set Miller free on the right, and his accelerated into the box and crossed the ball, it struck a diving defender on the hand but nothing was given. Frome made sure of all three points in the 83rd minute as Kyle Tooze won a corner that was headed back across goal by Bennison only for left back Marc Leach to handle on the line, and Brigham strode up to score his second penalty of the match and give Frome a comfortable 3-1 lead that they held until the final whistle. Kris Miller was chosen as Frome's man of the match by injured captain Jamie Cheeseman.     .  Frome Town Hitchin Martin Bennett Tom Pepper Marc Leach Lawrie Stuart Jack Nelly Louie Lee Ieuan Lewis Luke Gregson Zac Burke Jon Frendo Mitchell Cole Dean Gilbert James Edgerley Tony Fontenelle Jamie Arlick Jerome Anderson Officials R: M.
