Not only that, but for the second time in four days, Frome came up against a side preparing for an FA Cup tie with League opposition, in this case, Stourbridge’s impending FA Cup replay against Plymouth Argyle after an impressive 3-3 draw in the first match. Life doesn’t seem to gets any easier at this level. The first goal arrived on 12 minutes as a long kick by keeper Lewis Solly found Sean Evans on the left wing, and his ball inside was slotted home by Sam Rock ( who was celebrating his 300th appearance for Stourbidge) after evading three defenders. Ten minutes later and it was 2-0 as Sean Geddes sent Darren Chiity the wrong way as he converted a penalty after Ryan Rowe had been fouled by Tom Evans, and shortly afterwards Sean Evans made it a mountain for Frome to climb as he was allowed too much time in the area and fired home past Darren Chitty to make the score 3-0 to the hosts at half time. Frome were much more positive in the second half, and started the second half the better side. First, Mike Perrott drove the ball across the goal, but Matt Smith just failed to connect, and then Kris Miller produced a great ball across the area saw Dean Evans bring a save from Solly, and then Evans turned provider as he set Miller away with a superb through ball that Solly just managed to palm away, but Ben Thomson just failed to turn and slide the ball into the empty net. However, as often happens against the good sides, they can punish you quickly, and John Griffin put the game beyond doubt  when he latched onto a Craig Slater through pass before working a shooting angle and lashing the ball past Chitty. Even at 4-0 down, Frome kept on trying and the 82nd minute saw Luke Ballinger set up Thomson for a shot that hit the crossbar, and two minutes later, Thomson again brought a good save from Solly which went for a corner. Solly again denied Thomson in the 87th, and produced a super block save to deny Ballinger as he went for the rebound. The last few minutes saw an Alex Lapham drive just clear the crossbar and then Solly produced another class save to deny Ballinger who was left scratching his head wondering what was needed to beat this inspired keeper (who won the home club’s man of the match award) Kris Miller was chosen as the man of the match for the second match in a row.     Frome Town Stourbridge Solly Rock Lloyd Slater Geddes Bennett Smith Broadhurst Rowe  Billingham Evans Canavan Paskin Griffiths Craddock Dyson Officials R: C Taylor A: xxxxxx A: xxxxxx Match Sponsor xxxxxxx Ball Sponsor xxxxxxxx
