Saturday April 20th 2013 Arlesey Away Saturday 20th April 2013 Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Frome Town 0 Arlesey 1 Frome Scorers: None Arlesey Scorers: Farrell (82) Crowd: 185 Star Man: Josh Brigham Entertainment Value: 4 An entertaining, open match saw Arlesey take all the points with a late headed goal from Stuart Farrell, but with Bedworth losing elsewhere, Frome Town are now safe from relegation from the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League. Arlesey proved once again that they are a well organised side with a tight defence and a commanding goal keeper, and though Frome had equal possession in the first half, the only real chance fell to Mark Cooper in the 18th minute after he was set up by a Ricky Hulbert flicke, but the volley from 18 yards flew over the bar. As the match settled, Arlesey started to look danderous and Kim Forsyth cut in from the right to shoot into the side netting, then Darren Chitty saved at full stretch to push a low shot round the post and had to clear up after the corner. At half time, the scores were level, but Frome started the second half brightly and two well hit shots were charged down in the first minute, with Arlesey responding with ashots into the side netting and skimming the Frome bar shortly afterwards. Frome had a goal ruled out for offside in the 56th minute, but shortly afterwards, Chitty brought off two great saves in quick succession to deny first Chris Morish and then Kim Forsyth. The game swung from end to end, with both sides looking for the winner, but Arlesey probably looking the side more likely to get it, and so it proved in the 82nd minute as a superbly struck right wing corner found the head of  substitute Farrell at the far post and his close range header gave Chitty no chance. Arlesey’s Kim Forsyth was shown a second yellow in the 84th for a lunge on Dave Gilroy, and though Frome had most of the rattcking from that point on, they never really trouble Nat Abbey in the Arlesey goal and Arlesey were worth their win at the end.  Josh Brigham was awarded the  “H&B Tyres Man of the Match” award from match sponsors “The Ultras”, making it a good week for the “defender turned midfielder” as he also picked up the award on Tuesday at Hemel Hempstead.
