Saturday November 10th 2012 Stourbridge Away   Saturday 10th November 2012 Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Stourbridge 1  Frome Town 1 Frome Scorers: Powell (9) Stourbridge Scorers: Billingham (51) Crowd: 384 Star Man: Matt Smith Entertainment Value: 4 Frome Town produced an excellent away performance to earn a 1-1 draw at Stourbridge and with a little more luck in front of goal, might just have come away with all three points. Ollie Chenoweth continued his great form in the Frome goal as produced a stunning save in the third minute to tip over a Paul McCone header from a corner, but then Frome took the lead six minutes later as Dave Gilroy beat one man and fed the ball to Lewis Powell who was clipped on the edge of the area. Powell picked himself up, dusted himself off and produced a great free kick that screamed into the net. Stourbridge looked dangerous a couple of minutes later as Leon Broadhurst broke through, but his shot was well cleared by Dave Thomson, and then a patient build up a few minutes later saw a 25 yard effort from Drew Canavan saved low to his right by Chenoweth. Stourbridge continued to make the running as Luke Benbow cut into the box and shot wide, and then home shouts for a penalty were turned down in the 37th minute as a challenge by Matt Smith saw Ben Billingham hit the deck, but nothing was given, and at half time, Frome were pleased with the scoreline. The second half started with a break in play as Stourbridge’s Sam Rock was stretchered off after challenging Mike Perrott and injuring himself,  and straight from the restart, Powell could have increased Frome’s lead minute as he headed over a Dave Gilroy cross after Darren Jefferies had set him free. A minute later Stourbridge were level as a quick break from Luke Benbow saw him feed the ball to Ben Billingham who struck a low shot hard into the far corner, and Chris Knight sent a shot high and wide shortly after the restart. Stourbridge started to pressure Frome as they looked for the winner, but Frome almost made them pay in the 81st minute as a long Tompson clearance made Lewis Solly panic as for a moment as he raced back to his line, just claiming the ball by the post, and then a Frome break in the 84th minute saw a Ben Wood cross find Powell unmarked, but his shot went wide of the goal. Stourbridge almost won the game in the second minute of injury time, but again Chenoweth reacted quickly and Benbow was denied the winner, and then in the last move of the match Frome broke in numbers but couldn’t make it pay as Jefferies was denied by the crossbar. The “H&B Tyres Man of the Match” award was awarded to Matt Smith for another excellent all round game.     Frome Town Stourbridge Officials xxxx xxxx xxxx Match Photos Photos of this match taken by our expert photographer Chas Hadfield can be viewed by clicking on this rectangle Match Sponsor xxxxx Ball Sponsor xxxxxx Lewis Solly Sam Rock Sam Smith Paul McCone Sean Geddes Nathan Bennett Paul Lloyd Leon Broadhurst Luke Benbow Ben Billingham Drew Canavan Sean Evans Gavin Hurran Jamie Oliver Chris Knight Tom Turton
