With Ben Thomson and Jack Vallis both still injured, Tom Golledge made his league debut  at No.10, with Alex Rigley stepping down to the subs bench, and with Burnham looking for their first points of the season, the home fans hoped for a convincing victory to get the season back on track. Frome very nearly conceded in the 2nd minute as Burnham’s Jordan Ajanlokoko shot weakly into Darren Chitty’s hands from close range as he seemed surprised that the ball had found him so easily in the home penalty area, but Frome then responded as Kris Miller produced a peach of a right wing cross onto the head of Mark Cooper, but the ball flew harmelssly over the bar. Burnham should have taken the lead in the 14th minute as Jon Vance lost the ball in midfield allowing a right wing cross to find Romaine Walker in oceans of space a few yards out from the far post of the Frome goal, but he took too much time and eventually snatched his shot wide when it seemed impossible to miss. A great save from Chitty denied Ajanlekoko the opening goal as he headed downwards from ten yards out, and Chitty again showed his class to deny Walker as he found time to turn and shoot inside the Frome box. At this point of the match, Frome were really struggling to put anything meaningful together, and eventually Burnham made them pay in the 34th minute as a free kick inside the Frome half was taken short allowing a midfielder to run unchallenged towards the penalty area, and the slipped pass to Nicki Kemabab saw the number 9 curl the ball round Chitty and into the far corner. The goal definitely stung Frome into life, and the remaining minutes saw Hulbert head a Vance free kick wide of the far and Miller slice wide as he managed to get to the dead ball line, but at half time the visitors led 1-0. Manager Adrian Foster probably had some very choice words to say at half time, and Frome came out fighting and were rewarded with an early goal as Hulbert jinked inside his man on the right before pulling the ball back for Tom Golledge shoot right footed into the far corner and bring the score back to 1-1. However the good period only lasted a few minutes and Burnham moved into the driving seat, forcing Chitty to make a great top corner save to prevent a own goal in the 55th and he had to be continuously alert as Burnham seemed capable of winning the ball in midfield  and carving through the home defence at will. Frome had their moments at the other end though, and the 70th minute saw Alex Rigley find Vance on the far post, only for his volley to clear the crossbar and seven minutes later a Vance free kick was flicked goalwards by the head of Hulbert only for a defender to clear off the line. The 82nd minute saw Chitty make two great saves in quick succession as Frome wobbled again, but then a counter attack on the left led to Rigley picking out Matt Smith only for him to completely miss the ball as he looked to hit a left foot shot. Burnham scored the winner in the 86th minute as their strong midfield tackling saw them break up a Frome attack and create a “one on one” situation between Kebamab and Rhys Baggridge, Frome’s las man defender. Baggridge fouled inside the area, was shown a red card and substitute Zac Joseph hit the penalty  under Chitty to make the score 2-1 to the visitors. Frome went very close to an injury time equaliser as Hulbert dived at the far post to reach a Cowler long throw, but the ball went wide of the post and despite Frome appeals for a penalty, the whistle blew shortly afterwards. Kris Miller was awarded the  H&B Tyres “Man of the Match Award” by Andy and Roxi Meaden of AM Print and Copy had sponsored the match ball. Prog Sponsor None
