Anyone arriving ten minutes late for this match would have missed the first three goals as Frome were very slow to get going and were immediately punished as a ball into the Frome area wasn’t cleared allowing Matt Thorne to shoot high into the Frome net, and two minutes later Frome found themselves two down as another ball carved the defence clean open allowing Ross Lye to plant the ball into the corner. Frome did reduce the deficit almost immediately as Aaron Rodriguez danced through several challenges to score with a well placed shot, and the winger could well have equalised in the 11th as a great through ball from Mark Francis  found him in space but he somehow managed to sky the ball over the bar from 3 yards out with the net at his mercy. Larkhall then moved into overdrive and with Luke Bryan capitalising on a slip by Jack Metcalf to score in the 20th and showing excellent skill to bring the ball down and shoot home in the 27th, the writing was definitely on the wall for Frome and it was beginning to look like a rout was a distinct possibility. However, Frome now decided to move up a few gears and Francis went close with a header from a Ricky Hulbert cross, Rodriguez was put through by Mark Ford only to be denied by a good save by Conor THompson and and on the stroke of half time Ford was also denied by Thompson after a great run and pull back by Mark Cooper. Half Time saw Mark Francis and Jack Metcalf make way for Cameron Brown and Lamar Powell, and Frome carried on taking the game to Larkhall. Brown brought a great Thompson save in the 57th, but Frome then made it 4-2 in the 58th as Thompson couldn’t quite hold a stinging Cooper volley, and as Ford reacted the quickest, he was taken down in the box and Cooper converted from the spot. It was 4-3 in the 70th minute as Ford controlled a perfect Hulbert cross and smashed the ball home, and the on loan striker made it three goals in two games as he produced a stunning volley after a Brown cross to level the scores at 4-4. With the momentum definitely now with Frome, the winner arrived with ten minutes to go as a long range shot from Rodriguez was spilt by Thompson and Lamar Powell pounced on the rebound, went round the keepr and rolled the ball into the net to seal an amazing game of football. Mark Cooper was chosen for the “H&B Tyres Man of the Match Award”. Prog Sponsor xx
