After Wednesday’s heroics against Weymouth, the squad was a little depleted with both Jordy Nkunga and Jordan Walker unavailable through injury, and after Ricky Hulbert pulled up in the warm-up, he was replaced by Jon Davies who was also struggling with an injury. The subs bench included youngster Zayn Alime who signed during the week, James Fitzgibbon (a recent signing) and Darren Chitty (recovering from a groin injury.) Egham were quickest to get going  and after Pashaj had headed a Yorke cross wide in the 3rd minute, they took the lead in three minutes later as Matthew cut in from the right, beat his marker and delicately lobbed the ball over Dan Lloyd-Western. After Tyler Sibbick had tested Norris with a low 20 yard effort, Frome equalised in the 25th minute as a Jon Davies corner found it’s way out to Corby Moore who drove a 25 yard effort low into the far corner for his first goal for the club, and he was denied a second ten minutes later after a great move involving Liam Monelle and Sibbick resulted in a shot that was well saved by the home keeper. Another pinpoint Davies corner in the 38th was met by  Sibbick who had made a perfectly timed run and his header gave gave Norris no chance, and with Monelle having a snapshot just turned over the bar a few minutes later and Rob Hobbs bringing a save at the base of the near post, Frome were well worth teir 2-1 lead at hlaf time. The second half saw Frome go close again as a sweeping move involving Sibbick and Davies led to Darren Jefferies having a shot just tipped over the bar, but as Frome set out to hold onto their lead, chances became few and far between. Dan Lloyd -Western made a good save in the 83rd to deny Pashaj the equaliser, but on the whole they were never in danger and after a battling performance with  a few key players missing, they go into the hat for the next round of the FA Trophy. Rob Hobbs was  awarded the H&B Tyres man of the match award. Programme Sponsor xx
