Coming so soon after their excellent win against Kings Lynn, Frome were missing Rob Hobbs, Steve Hulbert, Jon Davies, Dan Cleverley and Darren Jefferies from their starting line up, requiring a re-shuffle with George Miller starting at right back, Chris Gregan making his debut at left back, Connor Roberts in at centre half and Blake Davies started on the left wing. After a troublesome trip up the M5 that had seen the kick off delayed until 8 pm after a traffic hold up caused by a train being transported by road, the match kicked off with Redditch desperate to win the points in their fight for automatic promotion, and Frome keen to extend their recent excellent run. After even opening exchanges, Frome’s Connor Roberts was penalised for pulling an attacker back and received a yellow card, despite the hosts protesting that he was the last defender, and from the resulting free kick, 25 yards out,  Jazz Luckie curled an effort against the angle of bar and post After Frome’s George MIller had hit an overhead kick from the edge of the area straight at Jose Veiga in the home goal,  a brave block from a Frome defender denied George Carline who had let fly with a fierce shot  from 15 yards following a through ball. In the first minute of stoppage time, Chris McPhee let fly with an effort from 30 yards that was deflected just past post, and from the resulting corner Marcus Mapstone bundled the ball home at far post to give Frome a lead that they would hold until half time. The second half started with a curling  effort from Redditch substitute Jack Hallahan which looked to be heading towards goal, but took an important deflection just wide, and afew minutes later, Frome’s Jake Jackson twisted and turned in the box and looked to be tripped but nothing given and the ball was cleared, and with Mitchell Page’s shot blocked as he  received the ball at the far post, Frome were always looking dangerous. The travelling band of supporters behind the goal had a big shout for a penalty in the 57th as a Jackson shot hit the hand of a defender, but nothing was given, and a minute later a superb move involving Page, Davies and Jackson set up a shooting chance for George Miller, but his shot was blocked. Redditch went close in the 66th as they smashed a shot against the bar from close range, and as everyone went for the rebound, a yellow was given to a home player for a loose  elbow, and they went close again 4 minutes later as Frome were slow to respond to a free kick and Jim Mutton hit his shot wide with plenty of time to pick his spot. Controversy erupted in the 81st as Frome’s Mitchell Page was shown a straight red card after winning a header, with the referee indicating that he had used his elbow, though most observers queried the decision, and with Frome now reduced to ten men, the referee again influenced the outcome as he awarded a penalty to Redditch as Shearer went to ground in the 89th, and he picked himself up and despatched the spot kick to the relief of the home crowd.  Mitchell Page  was awarded the  H&B Tyres Man of the Match Award for the fourth time in five matches and once again his work rate and ability to shrug off defenders and win the ball gave Frome options to counter attack throughout the match.  Frome Town Redditch Utd.
