Right from the start, the hosts looked dangerous going forward but looked frail at the back, and after Frome had won a free kick on 6 mins,  Jon  Davis produced one of his specialities scored with a wonderful curling free kick into the top left corner of the goal from 20yds to take the lead. There was plenty of end to end action before Frome increased their lead after 10 mins when with the ball bouncing around the area R Hobbs scored with a powerful shot past two defenders and the goalkeeper into the back of the net. The game was fairly even until just before half time when a freekick was floated over the penalty area and met with a powerful header from Yates centre forward to reduce the arrears and make the score 2-1 to the visitors. The second half saw Frome play some good one touch football and began to dominate the match, and they went close on several occasions before a flowing move ended with Mike Bryant finding the net from close range on 50mins. At 3-1 one up the visitors seemed to be cruising, but they were made to think again after 70 mins when a lob into the area saw a Yate forward head into the net with Carl Crabtree well beaten. Frome and Yate made substitutions around the 75 min mark which saw Mitchell Page replaced by  George Miller and Kris Miller replaced by Ben Griffiths. Yate took the game to Frome in the final stages but then a breakaway saw an excellent through ball to Davis who flicked the ball around the on coming keeper to make the score 4- 2 to the Town.
