Town picked up their fourth red card of the season as they were held to a goalless draw at
Toolstation Premier Division side Larkhall Athletic. In a poor first half the only real incident of
note saw Robins midfielder Mike Perrot pushed into the home dugout and was shown red for
apparent retaliation however it appears that leading up to the confrontation Perrott had also
been stamped on while on the floor prior to his red card.
Town went on to comfortably keep their goal intact with Matt Smith, Tom Evans and Lewis
Powell all going close to giving Frome the win although ‘keeper Darren Chitty had to be alert
to make a save from a free-kick near the end. The replay will take place on Wednesday
evening at the AlderSmith Stadium (ko 7.45pm).
Despite being a man down the Robins were very rarely threatened in the second half with
‘keeper Darren Chitty forced to make just one notable save from a long range free-kick.
Frome had chances to win the game as Lewis Powell saw a shot on the turn saved well by
home ‘keeper and former Chippenham Town team mate Chris Snoddy and then Matt Smith
had a staunch penalty appeal waived away after his stinging shot was palmed away by a
home defender.
