Evercreech visited Stadia Hu in good league form and sitting 3rd the league table. Sports on the back end of a great performance from the previous week started with the same side, however this represented quite the opposite performance. Very few chances were created throughout the game and it wasn't until the second that Frome scored the opener when a good run down the right from Nield Smith delivered the ball into the box, Doel cleverly dummied the ball to Wright who volleyed home. Frome never really got into there stride and although they had much possession struggled to create opportunities. Evercreech almost levelled the scoring to take the game into extra time but they were denied by an outstanding save from Ryan Matthews in the Frome goal. Frome remain in all four cup compettions as they enter the business end of the season, they are home again to higher division Welton Arsenal. Frome started the game brightly and after only 5 minutes took the lead through a Doel header. Frome continued to press and should have at least doubled there lead through chances missed by Lock, Latham and Witcombe who headed over from 6 yards. After the break Frome stepped up the pace and scored from a Lock corner which was met by the head of Robinson, a similar set piece saw Burns make it three with a bullet header. Oakley then had to make a reaction save in the only shot of the game that troubled the home goalkeeper before a good move saw veteran sports striker Alexander strike home with a perfect volley from inside the box. Alexander then forced a good save from the Wells keeper before adding his second with a clinical finish from just 6 yards out. Frome ran out comfortable winners but are under no illusion's surrounding the challenges that lay ahead in what are still the early stages of the season however with players fit from injury after the xmas break Sports will be looking to achieve some silverware before the season finishes with promotion top of their priorities Man of the Match: Ian Kennedy Team; Oakley, Burns (Keates), Baines, Collier, N.Smith, Witcombe (Taylor), Kennedy (C) Doel, Robinson, Lathem (Alexander) Lock.
