the boys on the hillIn the summer of 2011 the Club finally launched their official history book which had been in production for a number of years.Written by well known non league football author and former Frome Standard Sports Editor Kerry Mller the book charters the history of the Club from its formation at the Black Swan in the town centre, from its change of nickname from The Scarlett Runners to The Robins, the purchase of Badgers Hill, the glory years and Western League title, the seasons of doom and gloom and then the transformation into the Club we know today.The book contains every result and league table, appearances, goal scorers and pictures. Each season has its own story and is a superb read from cover to cover.The book was officially launched on Saturday 30th July 2011 when the Robins entertained Bristol City in a pre-season friendly and former players, manager, officials and long standing supporters were in attendance.Printing, type setting and publishing was undertaken by AM Print & Copy of Trowbridge.Club Secretary Ian Pearce was delighted that the book finally made it onto the shelves after such a long time: “The book was originally commissioned by former Chairman Paul McGuinness back in the early 2000’s but for one reason or another it never got printed. I’d always kept in touch with Kerry (Miller - the author) and we knew that one day the time would be right to press ahead and with some money available at long last and some serious hard work by Andy Meaden of AM Print & Copy we finally got to the stage of being able to print.
