Each year the youth and mini sections of the Club take over the Blindmans Brewery Stadium and hold a three day tournament for children of all ages.We have always received great feedback from everybody who attends especially as it gives children the opportunity to play on a Southern League pitch with top facilities and with the layout of the pitches it also gives perfect hard standing (or for some pitches seated) for all games.2015 TournamentWe are delighted to announce the dates for our 2015 Annual Tournament as we look to continue to build and expand on the last few years. The three day event will start on Friday 8th May and go through to Sunday 10th May. Full details and invitations will be sent out later in 2014 but you can register your interest now by emailing: tournament@www.frometownfc.co.uk2014 TournamentFrome Town held their annual 3 day football tournament/festival on the 9th 10th and 11th May. The Blindmans Brewery Stadium provided an outstanding venue for the event. Over 100 teams from near and far attended with participants aged from under 7s to under 15s. Despite the changeable weather the pitches held up well and provided an excellent playing surface while supporters could cheer on from the comfort of their seats in the covered stands. Fantastic football was on display from all age groups and the schedule was organised to provide maximum playing time with an emphasis on enjoyment and participation. The festival games for under 7s to under 9s were ‘non-competitive’ although this was not evident from the efforts these younger teams put in on the pitch. All participants in the festival received a medal. In the competitive age groups: U15 winners were Westbury (runners up Frome Town): U14 winners were Westfield Red (runners up Westfield Black): U13 winners Avon Athletic (runners up Frome United): U12 winners FC Bath (runners up Wincanton Town): U11 winners Bitton runners up (Frampton Rangers): U10 winners Frome Collegians (runners up FC Bath). The tournament organisers would like to thank all the volunteers who helped over the weekend to make the event such a success. Special thanks go to Nicki Strippel and Lottie Wright for organising the catering for the event, Paul Carver for public address announcements and witty banter with the crowd and the unsung heroes, in particular Peggy and Bill, who cleared up the debris to make the ground pristine for each day of the event. The tournament would not take place without the support and facilities provided by the parent club Frome Town. The youth section wish to extend their sincere gratitude to all staff in the Venue and the Frome Town committee.Feedback & TestimonialsWanted to say thank you for organising such a great tournament today.
