Future Plans Since coming together as a group the current Board of Directors have been intent on bringing the facilities at the stadium up to the highest level possible.  There has been a huge change to the site since 2009 both outside and inside the Venue & Sports Bar.  For too long there was an underinvestment in the site as a whole and many comments are now received from visiting clubs on the progress that is being made.  Without doubt the developments couldn’t have happened without several people and organisations and each project is detailed on this page  as a way of a thank you and fitting lasting tribute to those that have allowed the work to be completed. Moving forward the Board are continuing with their exciting plans to further enhance the stadium to make it a facility the town of Frome can be proud of. As part of the plans there is a growing need to build a new changing room complex which will incorporate various additional facilities, a minimum of an additional four turnstiles, an improvement to the floodlighting system, additional toilet and refreshment facilities. Floodlight Upgrade *IN PROGRESS* In the summer of 2013 the Frome Town Supporters Club made the decision, after discussions with the Football Club, to begin fund-raising to replace the ageing floodlight system and bring it up to a standard that would be compliant with the Football Conference. You can keep a check on the progress with this appeal on the Supporters Club Website by clicking HERE 3G Pitch *IN PROGRESS* As part of the Boards ongoing directive of exploring all avenues of improving the fortunes of the Club it was agreed in 2013 to begin work on the installation of a 3G pitch at the Stadium. Dialogue has been opened with both the Football Association and the Somerset Football Association concerning funding as well as with both local and regional councils.  Further information will be provided in due course. Covered Standing *IN PROGRESS* In October 2014 the Club’s successful grant application for a new covered area for standing spectators was approved by the Mendip District Councils Local Legacy Fund.  The £28,000 grant will enable a new stand, with solar panels on the roof to be installed subject to planning permission. The Club wish to thank Frome Town Council, Mendip District Council and the Frome Renewabl Energy Company for their support and partnership. Football Pools 90 Day Challenge In December 2012 the Club were awarded £50,000 towards facility development after winning a national competition run by the Football Pools.  The Community Challenge meant that the Club could make some big changes to the ground ahead of schedule.  It was launched on Wednesday 19th December with former Manchester United and England winger Lee Sharp presenting the cheque to the Club and a half time update saw football royalty visit with Kenny Dalglish and Trevor Francis checking in on the works which also was shown live on Sky Sports News. The FULL TIME event took place on Monday 22nd April with the visit of Paul Walsh and Nigel Winterburn. As part of the challenge the Club managed to complete the following projects: RE-SEAT MAIN STAND - The old wooden bench seating was ripped out by Simon Hillman, Paul Cook, Gordon Perry and John Turner and replaced with concrete tiered steps ready for seats to be installed.  The seats were finally installed in December 2013 with 275 seats donated by Gloucestershire CCC THE VENUE - The suspended ceiling in The Venue was replaced thanks to Bill Collinson and a new energy saving lighting system installed throughout.  One of the skittle alleys was removed and replaced with an extended kitchen and the creation of a class room / meeting room facility.  Our thanks also go to JW Ransome & Sons for providing the skips to us free of charge.  The toilet areas were also improved with new tiling and plumbing work while Kevin Corcoran Carpets & Vinyls donated new carpet. Our thanks also to Compugraphic Design for new signage around the building & stadium. ENCLOSING OF GROUND - Additional fencing was installed externally to enclose the ground making it more secure on match days. RENOVATED DUGOUTS - The dugouts were completely renovated with new roofs and new seating.  The seating (which takes the dugouts past Conference requirements) was kindly donated by Gloucestershire CCC while the cladding was donated by the Frome Town Supporters Club NEW TURNSTILE - A fourth turnstile was created and introduced next to the aerobics studio. NEW PA SYSTEM - A brand new system was installed giving a much greater range and performance Community Stand During the 2011/12 season and following Frome’s promotion to the Southern League Premier Division the Club had to improve its facilities and increase it’s seating capacity - in doing this a project was started to raise £56,500 to complete the work.  The Club would like to thank the following people and individuals who contributed to the appeal: The Football Stadia Improvement Fund provided a 50% grant of the total project cost of the project with: £28,269 The whole appeal got underway when Steve Jupp and Teresa Graham completed a sponsored walk from Shepton Mallet to Frome that raised £1400. A Frome based grant fund called the Frome Development Community Interest Company were very generous in awarding us £5,000 to the cause. Local company TBT Limited donated £2,000 to the appeal while Frome Rotary Club also handed over a cheque for the same amount as did the Frome Town Supporters Club. The Club were delighted to receive a £500 cheque from Frome Town Ladies as well as several fund raisers by the Youth Section bringing in around the same amount. Jamie Malley raised nearly £150 with a football quiz and an 80’s disco by Paul Carver and Louise Coate brought in £250. Andrews Coaches kindly gave £360, a fund raising match between Supporters and Committee raised £641 and players, supporters and Committee brought in additional money by growing moustaches for a month. The House at Woolverton put a sporting evening with Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris on for the Club raising over £1000 and Kevin Corcoran did a sponsored event that gave the appeal over £600. There was also plenty of raffles and collections made during the course of the appeal. People also pledged £50.00 to join the stand naming rights draw which was won by Andrews Coaches and had the stand named after them for the 2012/13 season which was won by Andrews Coaches. The stand was officially opened during the pre-season of 2012/13 when Bristol Rovers visited in a friendly.  There was a small reception for people who had helped towards the project before Rovers manager Mark McGhee officially cut the ribbon to open the stand.
