Trowbridge U8 vs Westbury U8
Saturday 11th October 2014
The under 8s travelled to Trowbridge and faced a very fast, strong side.
The boys put in an excellent performance with some big saves from Alfie in goal, Ashton and Callum defended well for
the duration of the game despite constant Trowbridge attacks. Good pass and move football from Oliver and Jack
tested the Trowbridge defence but were unable to get the breakthrough. Frome's only goal came from a superb solo
run from Callum, finding the top corner from a tight angle, Trowbridge netted a few times but despite the score, great
effort was shown by all.
Frome Town U8 vs Westbury U8
Saturday 27th September 2014
The under 8's started their first game hosting Westbury at Oakfield school.
A great solo run from Oliver N who took on the whole team but couldn't quite find the finish, a fast Westbury counter
attack put Frome behind but this only spurred the young robins on another fantastic solo run from Oliver N who this
time managed to pass the ball for Borris to slide home a fantastic first half from Frome with goals galore meant their
hard work was paying off! Frome came out in the second half as eager as they were in the first but a change in the
Westbury style of play caught us short at the back. Needless to say that goals from James, Oliver N, Theo and Borris
weren't enough to keep Westbury at bay as Frome began to tire. A great game of football with a lot of young players
with big bright futures.
