Dear Robins fans... Apologies for the lack of communication through theses notes of late. We have had games coming thick and fast, along with training and watching other games and players and trying to strengthen the squad, combined with working full-time and having 5 children, it has been pretty hectic!  The main topic of conversation has been the awful disciplinary record this season. I have personally never known anything like it in my career. For the fans that have been watching I'm sure they will say it's a combination of shocking decisions by officials and ill discipline from individual players. The first one we can do nothing about, but the poor discipline from our players has to stop. This farcical situation cannot and will not be allowed to continue. The Club have implemented fines to the players concerned, and these fines will continue to increase if this situation were to continue. It is not something that I like having to do because it isn't great for team morale, but ultimately these suspensions are the reason we sit where we do in the table. Tuesday night was a prime example. Yet again we had our two centre halves Jack Vallis and Rhys Baggridge suspended, along with Matt Smith our very influential midfielder, and then a further sending off for Kris Miller, leaving us down to ten men and subsequent defeat. In fact you could pick almost any game this season and the story would be similar. This Saturday is no different as Coops starts his 3 match suspension, along with Brandon Mundy and combine that with Ben Thomson injury, yet again we are 3 men down before we start.  We are playing good football, we are creating chances and scoring goals and Darren Chitty has been superb, and I know that we our shooting ourselves in the foot each and every time we get another yellow or red card. Not all players are contributing to this problem, but the ones that are, need to take responsibility for their actions. They are adults and need to learn to keep their mouths shut and let their football do the talking. One of the reasons we were so successful towards the end of last season was the settled team that was playing week- in, week out, and in order to start pushing up the table we need to get back to that. Please be assured we are fully aware that this situation cannot continue as it is detrimental to Frome Town FC. I can't say that there is not going to be another red card or yellow card, as once a player steps over the white line they have to take responsibility for their actions. Any bookings for dissent or needless red cards will be dealt with severely because it is costing us games and points as we have not been fielding a strong enough team for the vast majority of our games so far this season. There has been quite a lot of player movement of late with the departure of Josh Ford and Mark Francis, both players are great lads and I wish them all the best with their new clubs. Coming in we have seen Cameron Brown and Lamar Powell join the squad. Cam is a player that I was interested in in pre-season, but nothing materialised and then he was brought back to my attention from a Frome Town fan who had watched him play. Those that have seen him play will see that he is a valuable addition to the squad. Lamar is a player with a lot of potential once he gets himself fit and playing. Ollie Taylor has started playing again after his injury he picked up at Histon and he is a strong forward who knows were the goal is. He benefits from training with Woking and then playing games for us. We have seen Mark Ford play out his months loan with us, he is a player that will score goals and we thank him for his time with the Club and the contribution he has made. Josh Klein Davies has joined us from Paulton, again a goalscorer who will be a valuable addition to Frome Town, once his fitness levels improve. Cover for our two suspended centre halves was vital so we brought in Jake Hutchings from Torquay on a months loan, he has impressed in his performances and once the suspensions are over there will be good competition for the centre half positions, as we also have Steve Walker who joined us from Dorchester Town. Positivity breeds positivity and I know that a strong starting eleven from us is capable of beating the top teams in this league as we saw at Cambridge City and Biggleswade, with the Biggleswade Manager saying we are one of the best sides in the League. The games against Boreham Wood showed that we are capable of competing, and that is why it is so frustrating that this one area is letting us down. We have a good squad and we need to get our heads down, keep playing the beautiful game the way it should be played, believe in ourselves and the results will come, starting this Saturday away (of course) at Chippenham in the FA Trophy. It will be a tough game, again with a different starting eleven, but 100% will be given by all in a Frome Town shirt.
