Girls - Under 15’s

Frome Town 7 Frome Town Youth 1 Sunday 16th March 2014 After a long break from the weather Frome Ladies started their 2014 campaign in the semi finals of the cup and despite the performance of the season lost to Melksham so the Frome Ladies side were determined to get some points from this weekends game. With Ladies keeper injured players volunteered to go in and the team really pulled together as one. The game against Youth started slow but the Ladies managed to get the first after a long stale mate, a long throw from Tiegan found Jamie at the back post to pass the ball home. Youth did not tire and kept pressing Ladies who conceded to make it 1-1. With Ladies putting all their training into the game, they got the ball on the floor and started passing around, with chances from Tiegan and Jamie being saved. With Ladies continuing the pressure, Iris scored to put Ladies in front before the half time whistle. Fuel for Ladies of oranges and chocolate set them on their way with Mo-Jo and Jess P working hard in midfield. With Youth continuing to pressure Claudia, Jodie and Tanisha had a solid game in defence. Jess P played an excellent ball to Jamie who powered the ball past the keeper, 3-1.  With Ladies confidence growing, the football started to floe, Lucy found Tiegan to make it 4-1 to Ladies, a very deserved goal from the hard working Captain. Youth was unlucky when their keeper kick found Jamie, who volleyed the ball straight back into the net, a finish anyone would be proud of. Kitty had to make some saves from Youth keeping Ladies on top. Oreo worked tirelessly all match and came close to scoring. Lucy, Jamie and Tiegan linked up well going forward, with Jamie finding Tiegan to blast the ball into the net making it 6-1. Another long Tiegan throw found Oreo, who scored her first goal for the Ladies and a player that really deserved her reward. An excellent performance from the Ladies after a slow start. Well done girls.
